One thing I absolutely love about living in California is going for walks in the neighborhood year-round. This will inevitably lead to several images of plant life and whatnot for the photoblog, so I hope you like flowers, cacti, etc.
It also occurred to me that taking the DSLR with me on our walks will provide much more interesting photos. I tried several things with the iPhone (this photo included), and while some of the results were good, the iPhone's camera just can't hack it when it comes to framing an object the way a DSLR does. That was the main lesson I took away from today. I'll try to reserve the iPhone for more "in the moment" things when I have nothing else, but as always, I promise nothing. :)
