No amount of weather we experience in SoCal compares to what folks in Houston are dealing with in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. At worst, we deal with heat waves in the summer and mudslides in the winter. Therefore, whenever we do experience something resembling "bad weather," it calls for a collective freakout. We got wind today, guys. Legit wind, as in blowing branches off of trees kind of wind. The palm tree pictured normally splays its leaves in all directions, but it's clearly skewed in one direction in this moment. In a way, the wind was a relief since it blew in cool air we haven't felt in well over a week. Temps have easily exceeded 100 degrees Fahrenheit the last several days.
