Intro to 365 at 36
Hi! Welcome to 365 at 36, my photoblog project. Starting on July 20, 2017 — my 36th birthday — I am taking a photo and sharing it here. Ideally, the photo will have significance to that particular day so it's clear why I took that particular photo. However, sometimes I might just play with photographic technique, too, just for fun.
- I must take a photo every single day and post it here the following day. If life becomes hectic and I get behind, I can delay posting and catch up later, but I cannot delay taking a photo for any day and making up for it later. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- I can use whatever equipment I have on hand. For most cases, that might be my iPhone 6s since it's always with me. But for the sake of working on refining my rusty photographic technique, I want to break out my DSLR whenever possible. I also have a GoPro Hero 4 coming soon and may use that as well. I'll list what I equipment I used in each photo's post.
- The only Photoshopping allowed is adjustments to contrast, levels, color balance, and a touch of vibrance.
I did a project like this six years ago, in the year leading up to my 30th birthday. It's fun looking back on that collection of images that now seem so long ago, in a different time of my life. My hope is that this project will achieve a similar result. And I hope that in the process, you out there in the ether will enjoy the journey along with me. That way, even if a photo isn't stellar in terms of technique, maybe its overall meaning will carry more weight. You'll get to know me better in the process and I hope that the same will apply in reverse.
You're always welcome to share a photo on social media if you like it. Just please give credit to the source (Charlynn Schmiedt) and do not claim it as your own.
Thanks for tuning in. Let's get this collection started.
